Sure enough, I could adjust brightness/contrast there as well. O/S Win MCE (XP Pro) with all updates, Pentium 4 & 1GB RAM. Since I could affect the video brightness and contrast, I decided to try the same via Skype. On capture menu clicked Capture Video > popup says 'set capture file' > main menu click set capture file > enter a file name > start camcorder playback > capture menu click Capture Video > popup says 'Unable to start video capture'. Just for the heck of it, I tried both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of VirtualDub with the same behavior. Starting capture to : F:\Users\\Desktop\test01.aviĬapDShow: Unable to transition filter graph to paused state.ĬapDShow: Unable to transition filter graph to run state: hr = 80004005 () if I select Capture -> Log I can see a few more messages, as follows: if I select Capture -> Capture Video or Capture -> Test Capture I receive a dialog, "Unable to start video capture." Now, it's simple enough for me to open VirtualDub, go through File > Open, load the first scene, go to File > Append video segment, select the second scene, check the 'autodetect additional segments by filename' option, set the video to Direct Stream Copy, set the audio to 'from other file' and choose the soundtrack, then save the whole thing. I can adjust the Brightness and Contrast and can see the effects in the video I'm recording with EzGrabber. selecting Video -> Video source allows me to switch between Composite and SVideo (when I do that, the recording in EzGrabber goes blue when I choose Composite, then returns to normal when I select SVideo I currently am connected via SVideo, so this seems to be a good sign). I played around with it a bit to see if I could figure it out and made the following observations: But all that shows within VirtualDub is a black rectangle. it appears to make an attempt to grab the video. If I start recording with EzGrabber software then, in VirtualDub, select File -> Capture AVI. Never used VirtualDub before, but I just tried it.
