When Winnie walks up to him and is just about to ![]() She asks if she can get a drink, Jesse says no, instead he calls the spring water "poisoned". In the movie, Winnie is running away from home and suddenly she trips, and comes to see a boy drinkingįorm a spring. She says that it's her wood and that she can come out whenever she wants to. She comes out and he asks what she'sĭoing there. In the novel, she is spying on Jesse before she asks for a drink when he says, "You might as well come out". One of them is that Winnie wants to drink from the spring as she plaintively states in the novel "I'm getting thirstier by the minute" she states thisīecause she had been running around in the woods. Meets Jesse in the novel and in the movie. Winnie's full name is Winnifred Foster, however everyone just calls her Winnie. When Winnie meets Jesse in the novel and in the movie, when Winnie runs away in the novel and in the movie, and finally, when Winnie finds out about the Tuck's secret in the novel and in the The parts of the novel that I will be writing about are I will tell you why I think that the director of the movie might have changed certain things for a certain reason. I'm going to mention different parts of the novel and compare them to the Specifically I will be stating 3 of the differences and 3 of the similarities about the plot. Tuck Everlasting is written by Natalie Babbitt Also because the book helped me picture it better than the trailer. There are many similarities and differences between the novel Tuck EverlastingĪnd the movie(2002 version). If I could either recommend the movie or the book to a friend I would probably pick the book because I think it would be more detailed. ![]() ![]() This would be a movie I definitely would want to see because it has a lot of heart. It was hard to tell because it was short and I probably could get a better thought about the movie if I saw more of it. So pretty much I think the characters were the same.įrom the trailer I kind of liked the changes. I think Jesse acted the same in the trailer and in the book. But Winnie looked a little older that 11, in the trailer. Also its the same because it still showed the love Winnie and Jesse had. ![]() The book is similar to the trailer because it still had Tuck and Winnie talking on the boat by the lake. The book is also different from the trailer because at one in the trailer, at the beginning there was someone riding on a motorcycle, and there was nothing about someone on a motorcycle in the book. The book is different than the trailer because the man in the yellow suit shoots Jesse and that didn't happen in the book. I would not recommend this book to my friends because it just isn't good. I would not want to watch this movie because from the looks of the trailer there is too much love. I do not like the changes to the movie because Winnie is too old, there is no exciting plan to take Mae out of jail, there is no man in the yellow suit, and in the movie the person is not shot by choice and if you watched the trailer and not known anything about Tuck Everlasting you would be totally confused. The characters are similar because Jesse is obviously the good looking one, they are different because Winnie is older, there is no constable, and there is no man in the yellow suit. It is different because Winnie is older, you do not see a spring anywhere, Jesse gets shot and Angus does not, Mae doesn't go to jail, there is no man in the yellow suit, and Jesse is the main reason they are moving. It is similar because: there is a giant ash tree in the woods, Winnie and Jesse are in love, and Angus takes Winnie fishing.
